Now I have some more time to mess around in Blender!!!!!!11

I also think that i'm going to make a vignette or two before I start production on Stick Dat, but don't worry dedicated viewers, they will be funneh!!!!!!!

Almost....there....

Alright, cut the BS, let's go straight to the updates...

PIVOT-------------------------------------------------------------
.
Alright, my Meme is almost done!!!! My dad forgot to tell me to bring my computer down tonight [insert evil laugh] so I actually get to post it tomorrow instead of next weekend!!!!! I Basically just had to get the .wav (audio) file for a vid, get a sound effect off of that, put the credits in, and get a sound from online!!!! And of course, mash it all together in my video....along with some fine-tuning of the details.

In honor of this achievement, I shall start posting PIVOT TIPS BY REQUEST!!!!!!!!!!!
.
...but you must remember, they only come by request!!! If you work in Pivot/Blender/3D animation, ask me anything, hopefully I can answer you!!

BLENDER--------------------------------------------------------
.
I haven't really done anything here since I last updated, but I promise, after this vid is uploaded I will take a break from Pivot and focus more on recreational "fanworks". This will also give me time to mess with Blender, and....hopefully....get started on my Original Character designed just for Blender, so that shalt be most epic. :D

I gotta go finish and upload the video now. Bye!!!

Big Weekend Up Ahead!

Hey everyone. Not much has happened yet since my last post, at least not outside the world of animation. ._. Actually, someone today told me they were going to a camp for the weekend, so I won't see them until Monday. I will miss this *ahem* special someone ;) over the 2 days, but I do wish her well. ^^

...and by forum I mean the WALL-E forum that I go on all the time.

...

...

again, you can stop laughing at any time. B-(

...anyway, back to how this relates to the animating, it means that get more me-time to mess around with stuff!!!!!

PIVOT------------------------------------------------------------
.
Yayayayayayayyyyyy I gotz teh microphone!!!!!! 8-)

It was an array microphone though (like the ones used on stage), so the jack was only for an amp, and not a computer, so I had to wait a day to get that from Dan. Sorry for not updating you on that yesterday *cowers* Anywho, I got the jack today, so I can do the recordings this weekend If I don't get a crapload of homework yay!!!!!!!

....also I will have a preview of Stick It 2: Stick Dat in the end credits, so you peeps can look forward to that!!!! :D

BLENDER---------------------------------------------------------
.
I plan on doing something for Blender this weekend, preferably with Blender For Dummies, maybe not depending on how much stuff I have to do and how much privacy I get at home. It's mostly gonna be a Pivot weekend since I got my microphone and i'm so close to finishing this meme.

However, I will try to get some messing around done in Blender this weekend despite the inevitable landslide of homework, for those of you (fellow?) Blenderheads out there. If I do use the book, I will be reading from...hang on...

Part I: Wrapping Your Brain Around Blender
Chapter 4: Working In Edit Mode And Object Mode
Discovering Parents, Childrens, And Groups

...like I said, i'm a N00b! :P

BLENDER TIP OF THE POST:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
.
I've actually decided to change something around here with this "Blender Tips" thingy. I will still have it, of course, but now it will only come by commenter request. If you would like to know how to do anything in Blender, anything at all, just leave a comment! You can request pretty much anything you want, as long as it's specific enough.

Like don't ask me how to "Make a Wood Texture". That would be a tutorial. And don't ask me "How do I make my guy move?" That's not specific enough.

...outside of those guidelines, however, pretty much anything can come by request. It can be as simple as asking how to add a mesh to as complicated as adding modifiers or making a big particle system. I just take it straight from the book, I don't even understand 3/4ths of the stuff he puts in there!!! :D

that's it for this post....oh yeah, and i'm also exporting this blog to wordpress, to get more publicity!!!!! i'll still be here, of course, im just.....expanding. Blogger isn't a real great place to have a blog that you want to have a lot of people follow you, I think Wordpress is more social than Blogger is. I really don't know at this point in time, i'll have to check it out.

AAAAAAAAARRRRRGH!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't updated in like a week, but there's a credible reason for that.

anyway, I was about to be on spring break when you last heard from me. I am now off of spring break, so here come the all-anticipated updates...

*drumroll*

PIVOT--------------------------------------------------------
.
Ok, this section is the big reason for the title of this update. Remember how I said I would try to do those recordings and if not that, at least get all of the clips organized?

...well, because of a big research paper in my English class, I got literally NOTHING DONE. And I mean absolutely NOTHING. I spent the whole weekend doing stupid notecards!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...anyway, i'm gonna try to do all that this week. I can't use my dad's microphone since it's hooked up to all of his music equipment, but the good news is that my friend found another microphone that he says was missing for like feaking ever. He's gonna lend me the old one for my recordings and doing them will get me almost 100% done with the project, ready for me to post on YouTube.

BLENDER---------------------------------------------
.
Well, as dire as the Pivot situation is right now, I have made a LOT of progress in this area. I already finished Part I of my book!!!!!!!!!!

I figured out that if you're reading a book like that or something similar, it helps big time if you have Blender open while you're reading it. You can put a lot of the things they tell you into good use; things that didn't make sense when you read it at first will make sense when you do it at the same time as you're reading. Like, I didn't understand how parent objects behaved very well until I got on Blender and actually messed around with it.

And like I said before, it often helps to go on Blender and just mess around a bit. In a program like Blender, you actually learn a lot that way. ;D

BLENDER TIP OF THE DAY:::::::::::::::::::::::
.
Stay tuned for the Blender Tip of the Day! I shall post it right here in this post ASAP! ;)

Spring Break!!!!!

I'M ON SPRING BREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!!!!!!!!!!!!

...which kinda sucks when you have to spend it in Minnesota while there's still 6 inches of snow on the ground.

...anyway, that is VERY good news for you guys. Since I have nofreakingwhere to go for a whole freaking week, I finally get some quality time to work on this stuff. ON Monday, I will get those recordings done for my vid, which will be almost all of my sound work right there, and I should get it done, posted on YouTube, and started on my next project: Stick It 2: Stick Dat.
ON Tuesday, I will be working entirely in Blender, just simple stuff, I MAY make a character if I feel like it, but definitely don't expect anything. It'll be mostly me just trying to figure out this SOB. Dont expect any Blender animations for a while though, because that's one of the most complicated parts of Blender.
I don't really have any updates, blame school for that, not me.
BLENDER TIP OF THE DAY::::::::::::::::::
Tip #1 Of The Day: Keep one hand on your mouse and one hand on your keyboard. A lot of stuff in Blender comes from pressing keys. Another good example is to use Ctrl, Alt, and Shift a lot. One cool thing to do is hold Ctrl and press the arrows. Tis' fun. :D
Tip #2: When you're in the 3D window, you can add new stuff to your scene by accessing your toolbox. How do you do that? Press your space bar, and go to Add. From there you can add just about anything. (If you're bored and just messing around, I sugest the meta objects. They're Uber fun. :D)
See ya soon (hopefully with updates)!!!!! ;)

Another BIG Update

Whoa, it's been a little bit since I last updated, sorry about that. I've been kinda working on homework and stuff....yeah schoolwork is annoying, but at least i'm getting paid for it. Oh wait a minute...

...but I blew chunks this morning and now I get home so I can work on all this crap now!!!!

PIVOT------------------------------------------------------------------

...so, I factored in what kind of sounds I had to get for the new animation. Thankfully I won't need to buy any songs from iTunes...which I have to admit, as helpful as it is, it is annoying....just having to pay a buck for a song that i'll only use 5 seconds of anyway. For a dollar i'd rather have a Snickers bar and actually eat the whole thing, dangit!!!!

anyway, I also found that most of my sounds won't come from online, either. Almost everything will be recorded live or it'll come from videos that i'll have to convert from online. *sigh* it'll be worth the effort, though.

I'll get a microphone from my friend and then I can start on it yay.
BLENDER---------------------------------------------------------------
MY BOOK CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMME!!!!!!!!!!!!

My "Blender For Dummies" book!!!!

And so far, i've taken a lot from it. Turns out that Blender is supposed to be super-totally-mega-awesome advanced technology for animating, even though it appears to be....messed up.

for those of you that don't have it and would like to get it, i've included a download link just for you:

the best part is that it's open-source (i.e. free), and it's only a 9mb download!!!! (unless you want to download the zip archive). And you still get some pretty good animation software. Really, they should be selling this for hundreds of dollars considering how great it is.

This is where I wait for people to download this and come back to me and say "OMG HOW THE F*** DO I DO ANYTHING ON HERE?!?!?!?!"

Be at peace, young ones. I will show you all some common courtesy by giving you a tip-of-the-day, straight from the book.

BLENDER TIP OF THE DAY::::

I'll be starting off with tips about the interface for the next few days. I'll be moving along at the pace that people could be following these posts at.

1. Blender's interface has been called everything from "brilliantly thought-out" to "thrown together by a pack of monkeys". It scared the living sh*t out of me the first time I looked at it. But it's actually cool once you know how to actually do stuff!

Blender is unique in many more ways than this one, but it has a non-blocking interface. What that means is that when you want a new window, the new one doesn't block any of the other ones. Like when you go to open a file or save a project, a window pops up, and you can't see what's behind the window. This is an overlapping window. Blender doesn't do this. You can make new windows by doing this:

1. right click the seam of the two headers.

2. click the option that says split area.

3. click the spot where you want the new seam to be, and a new window is opened!

you can also resize the window by left-clicking and dragging. It's epic.

Also, just take some time to play aound in Blender a little bit. See what happens when you click on this or that. I learned a little bit by doing this.

..........

You can buy this book "Blender for Dummies" right now, in your bookstore, too. It costs $35.00, and it comes with a disk where you can get Blender off of. This book is brand new, just pubished too. (the copyright date even says 2009 D:)

Comment here if you have a question on Blender or Pivot animating. (keep in mind though that i am still a n00b at Blender Dx)

See ya soon!

Now i'll REALLY bring you up to speed...

This post actually updates you about all of the things that i am currently working on in Pivot AND Blender.

PIVOT-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right now I am currently working on an 8-question fan meme for the movie WALL-E.

Yes, I am a 15-year-old male who has beaten Guitar Hero, listens to the band Rise Against, and his favorite movie is.......WALL-E.

....

STOP LAUGHING!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I have rendered all 8 stickman sketches for the 8 questions (and then some....*wink*) and have sorted them into Windows Movie Maker for the sound mixing!!!! *breakdance*

Among other places, I will be using exclusive sounds from a vignette of Wall-E meeting a vaccum cleaner, so those of you who like Wall-E out there, you can watch for that.

I will also post exclusive stuff here once people start following me, like sounds, screenshots, and project updates here. Maybe even clips. but ONLY IF PEOPLE SUBSCRIBE! I MEAN FOLLOW!!!

BLENDER--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so I recently ordered a book called Blender For Dummies (they have dummy books for everything :P), which is supposed to explain how to do stuff in Blender, so once I get that it may unlock some key components in the system, so I might actually start to get somewhere.

And don't orry, i'm gonna take a lot of time to go over the book....i'm not gonna read it all in one night. What I will do, I will read it chapter by chapter, test it out on the computer after reading it, fool around a bit, and report my findings!

So, that way, you will be learning along with me!

...and please leave comments and/or follow me so I know that i'm not wasing my time. Unless I am... :'(

I kid :P
